We are on a mission to create a regenerative farm and food forest in the Valencia region
We are looking for a farm to buy
What is Bosque de Alimentos de Valencia?
A farm that will be owned by a Spanish charitable foundation, funded by donors from the Netherlands. While the initial support comes from abroad, the goal is for the farm to become self-sustaining—generating enough income to support those who work on it.
How will it work?
The soil, the climate, and the existing landscape will guide us in choosing the right crops, trees, and farming methods. Rather than forcing a fixed plan onto the land, we will work with nature to create a thriving, regenerative ecosystem.
Beyond food production, the farm will be a place for learning and inspiration. We will develop educational programs to share knowledge about regenerative farming, agroforestry, and sustainable living—helping others reconnect with the land and explore new possibilities for the future.
We Are Looking For the Perfect Location
We are looking to buy a large farm within one hour from the City. Our aim is to increase biodiversity, restore soil health and limit water usage, grow food in harmony with nature, and grow a community around it. This project will bring these benefits to both Valencia and the village we settle in.
Food Forests in the Valencia Region
The Mediterranean climate of Valencia is ideal for food forests, with its mild winters and dry summers. However, water scarcity and soil degradation remain significant challenges. Agroforestry projects in the region have demonstrated that integrating native species, such as holm oaks, almonds, and carob trees, alongside more traditional fruit crops, can create resilient ecosystems that thrive even in dry conditions.
A Community Effort
A food forest is more than just a way to grow food—it’s a way to bring people together. In Valencia, communities around food forests often engage in:
- Educational workshops on permaculture, water conservation, and natural soil enrichment.
- Harvest festivals celebrating the seasonal abundance.
- Skill-sharing sessions on food preservation, herbal medicine, and composting.

Food forests offer a regenerative approach to food production that aligns perfectly with the Mediterranean climate of Valencia. By harnessing the power of biodiversity, natural cycles, and community participation, they create a resilient, low-maintenance, and productive landscape. While challenges exist—particularly in market access—innovative solutions like local networks, direct sales, and educational outreach can ensure their success.
